"i want black healthy hair"

i called a friend (who will remain nameless--for now) to have a little chat. she was just reading my blog and saw an interesting link to a hair salon, so she clicked on it. the link took her to a webpage that said, "I want healthy black hair" for some reason we both start laughing. then it reminded me today in the mail i got an ESSENSE where black women come first magazine in my name...very strange. last time i checked im not black.

on the cover one of the headlines read "#1 sex secret: make him say your name" which then lead to of course, another funny conversation about her recent visit to the gyno (wait should i be writing this?) apparently while there the dr. asked "are you familiar with Kegel exercises? my friends' response was "oh yes, i do them all the time!" so funny. I told her she should have said, "im doing them right now, can't you tell?"

which leads to our other topic of conversation... there's this new fascination with pole dancing. i know all these women buying poles for their home to use for exercise. i hear they're actually a great work-out. last week she called to say, "guess what?? i ordered a pole and it arrived in the mail today!" ha ha a few days later she called back and said, "so this pole thing isn't so easy, you need to have a lot of upper body strength to hold yourself up." tonight, after talking about kagel exercises, she says, "i went out to buy a couple of those grip balls to strengthen your hands, so i can get a better grip on my pole."

i say to her "well, i guess you're tightening your grip...in more than one place!" :D

i love my friends. i think i need to start documenting and transcribing all my conversations word for word.
